Self-hosted network device simulator

The network your tools can’t tell from real.

Netplica stands up a believable, multi-vendor network on your own hardware — real SNMP, real configurations, live traffic and topology — so your monitoring, management, and compliance tools behave exactly as they would against the genuine fleet. None of it is real. Nothing watching it can tell.

What it does

A whole network, out of thin air.

Every simulated device is more than an SNMP responder — it answers, serves, connects, and emits exactly what a management system expects to see.

Authentic SNMP

Devices answer from real captures, matched to each by its true identity — so your tools classify and poll them like the genuine hardware.

Writable configs

A real running-config over an SSH console whose edits persist — so a compliance tool can report, remediate, and re-audit, and watch the fix stick.

Topology & sites

LLDP neighbours, site-to-site backbone, and devices spread across named locations — maps and rollups look like a real estate, not a lab bench.

Live traffic & load

NetFlow and sFlow, interface utilisation and CPU/memory load on demand, and attack-shaped traffic sized to trip real detectors.

Events & records

Syslog to your SIEM and PBX call-detail records — real volume for dashboards, alerting, and analytics to work on.

Dashboard, CLI & API

Run the whole fleet from a web dashboard, a command-line tool, or a REST API — add, build, start, stop, and inject faults, all live.

Simulate, don’t emulate

The breadth of a real fleet, at a scale emulators can’t reach.

Netplica

simulate
  • No vendor OS images, no image licences
  • Hundreds of devices on a single host
  • The management-facing surface: SNMP, config, flows, traps
  • Built for the tool that watches the network

GNS3 · EVE-NG · CML

emulate
  • Run the real vendor OS image in a VM
  • A handful of heavyweight nodes per host
  • Full control plane and CLI
  • Built for studying device internals
Why Netplica

No licence. No limit. No leash.

∞

No device cap

The old simulators stopped at a number — because that’s how many licences you’d bought. Netplica runs as many devices as your hardware can handle. No per-device fee, no ceiling.

⌂

Self-hosted

It runs entirely on your own host. Nothing outside it has to be reachable for your fleet to stay up — no metered lease that can fail and take the fleet dark.

↺

Yours to own

Captures and configurations stay local, sanitised, and under your control. We didn’t license it, wrap it, or resell it — we wrote every line.

We got tired of a simulator that could phone home and die — so we built our own, and took the meter off entirely.

Netplica is the modern, self-hosted way to stand up a convincing network: everything the expensive, metered simulators do — a believable, multi-vendor fleet your monitoring and compliance tools can’t tell from the real thing — except you host it, you own it, and it keeps running because your hardware says so, not because a licence server somewhere had a good day.
